Lady Liberty Learn to play
New to hockey? Learn to play with the girls!
Learn to Play is run by our highly experienced LTP staff and introduces girls to the sport of ice hockey in a fun, non-competitive program. No skating instruction is necessary to participate in Learn to Play.
Our certified, on-ice coaches help kids learn the basics of hockey, including skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting skills.
As players progress through the Learn to Play program, they are moved to teams appropriate to their skill level.
Ages
Lady Liberty LTP is open to girls of all ages, but participants typically range in age from 3 to 12 years old.

Lady Liberty LTP has sessions starting throughout the year. With sessions starting in the fall/winter, spring, and summer, there's sure to be one that works for your schedule.
Learn-To-Play Player Equipment
Full gear is required for Learn to Play. Equipment may be purchased locally from Pure Hockey or Play It Again Sports. Affton Hockey also offers an equipment rental program. Rental equipment is free, but a deposit of $150 is required.
Players Receive:
- Helmet with face mask
- Gloves
- Pants
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow pads
- Shin pads
- Practice jersey
Players supply or purchase:
- Skates
- Pelvic protector
- Mouth guard
- Stick
- Tape
Summer LTP Schedule
Summer Lady Liberty Learn to Play starts on July 12, 2026 and ends on August 30, 2026 with skates on Sundays at Fenton and Affton.
Equipment fittings for the summer session will take place Wednesday, July 10 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm (last names A-K) and 6:30 to 7:30 pm (last names L-Z) at Affton Ice Rink.

Fall/Winter LTP Session
Lady Liberty Learn to Play Fall/Winter Session skates are every Sunday afternoon, beginning on November 15, 2026 and concluding on Sunday, February 7, 2027, for a total of 12 LTP weekends (there's no LTP on Sunday, December 27, 2026).
