Affton Learn to Play Hockey
New to hockey? Learn to play!
Learn-to-Play is run by our highly experienced LTP staff and introduces kids to the sport of hockey with no skating experience necessary to participate.
Our certified, on-ice coaches help kids learn the basics of hockey, including skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting skills.
Ages
LTP is for first-time players new to the sport of hockey who generally fall between 3 and 13 years of age.

Learn-To-Play Player Equipment
Full gear is required for Learn to Play. Equipment may be purchased locally from Pure Hockey or Play It Again Sports. Affton Hockey also offers an equipment rental program. Rental equipment is free, but a deposit of $150 is required.
Players Receive:
- Helmet with face mask

- Practice jersey

2026-2027 Fall/Winter LTP
Registration Fee: $310
Fall/Winter session LTP skates are every Sunday afternoon from November 15, 2026 through February 7, 2027, for a total of 12 LTP weekends.
NOTE: there is no LTP on Sunday, December 27, 2026
